In 2020, Midwest Reliability Organization (MRO) began planning a renovation of their existing 25,000 square foot office, with the intent to expand into the remaining 10,000 square feet on their floor. 45 North Group was involved early in the design process and helped coordinate the competitive RFP process for additional project vendors. With volatile material lead times and pricing during this project, 45 North Group worked with the architect and general contractor to identify value engineering opportunities and savings to keep the project on budget and stay aligned with schedule.

As MRO could not take ownership of the expansion space until the new year, construction was conducted in a phased approach which required significant vendor coordination for storing existing furniture and equipment on site.  Phase I construction began in November 2020 with the renovation of their existing space and phase II started as the expansion space became available January 2021.

The resulting space features a redesigned elevator lobby and reception area for an enhanced guest experience when MRO hosts industry events. Employees also have access to a larger break room with views of the city and natural light. A primary enhancement came in the form of specialized audio-visual and sound products to accommodate plans for increased in-person & digital meetings internally. With an added collaborative spaces and internal conference rooms, employees have greater variety in workspaces, and MRO has gained an increased desk capacity as they grow.
